1.Tokyo's Saint Maria Cathedra

A Catholic cathedral built with contributions from the faithful of Cologne, Germany.
The novel design by renowned architect Kenzo Tange is notable for the total absence of columns inside the building.
2.Koishikawa Botanic Garden
5 min. from Hakusan station on Subway Mita Line / Approx. 20 min. from the Hotel
Originally a villa built for the fifth Shogun Tsunayoshi during the Edo period (1600 - 1868) and later converted into a charitable hospital by the Tokugawa shogunate. In 1877, it became a botanical garden attached to Tokyo University. A former Tokyo Medical School building, designated as an Important Cultural Property, is preserved in the garden.
3.Dentsu-in Temple

This historic temple was built in 1603 and dedicated to Dentsu, the mother of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo period.

5.Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens

A relaxing verdant area established by Yorifusa, the first lord of the Mito family - one of the three Tokugawa shogunate families. The name, Korakuen, was given by Mitsukuni, the second lord.

Originally dedicated to those who died during the Boshin Civil War, which led to the overthrow of the Tokugawa shogunate. Within its precincts are over 1,000 cherry trees. Every spring, the apprearance of their blossoms signals the official arrival of the cherry blossom season in Tokyo.

A park with bird and insect sanctuaries set amid its many trees. Nippon Budokan Hall, Science and Technology Hall, the Modern Gallery and other facilities are to be found these verdant surroundings.

Chidorigafuchi is one the moats surrounding Kitanomaru Park. Familites and couples spend many relaxing holidays boating on the waters of the moat.
9.The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo

A beautiful red brick building, designed by the army engineer Yasushi Tamura and built in 1911. It was designated an Important Cultural Property in 1972.

The Byzantine Cathedral of the Resurrection, popularly referred to as Nikolai Do Cathedral after Archbishop Nikolai of the Russian Orthodox Church of Japan. This was build in 1892.

Sanshiro Pond, formally known as Shinji Pond, is located in the Ikutokuen Garden of the Kaga family's residence in Edo (now Tokyo) and dates from the Tokugawa period. It has come to be called Sanshiro Pond after Soseki Natsume's novel.
15.Shinobazu Pond

The surface of this pond is covered with lotus flowers in summer and with more than 10,000 ducks in winter. Benten Temple, built by the priest Tenkai, stands on an island in the center of the pond.
16.Rinsho-in Temple

Constructed in 1624 by Kasuganotsubone, the famous nurse of the third shogun Iemitsu.
Covered with trifoliate orange leaves, it has become known as the Trifoliate Temple.
17.Bunkyo Furusato History Museum

Built in 1991 as a center for research and the preservation and presentation of reference materials associated with Bunkyo Ward. The materials are displayed by theme, such as history, novelists and historic places.
18.Yushima Shrine
10 min from Hongo station on Subway Marunouchi Line or from Ochanomizu station on JR Chuo/Sobu Lines / Approx. 20 min. from the Hotel
Yushima Shrine is dedicated to Sugawara Michizane, a leading court scholar of the Heian period (794 - 1185). It now attracts students preparing for their school entrance examinations. A copper-coated torii (Shrine gate) stands at the entrance to the precincts.
